About Me

Hi! I'm Huy, a third-year Computer Science Major at Georgia Tech pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree (expected to graduate in May 2028) with concentrations in System-Architecture and Cybersecurity. I personally love learning about new concepts and technologies from both courses and my personal projects. For my next semester, I'm co-oping at Itential in their Atlanta office to work on network automation software.

Experience

Software Engineer Co-op

Itential Atlanta, GA Jan 2026 – July 2026
  • Resolved a significant portion of high-severity backend defects in a MERN-based orchestration platform, fixing import/export pipeline failures caused by malformed JSON payloads and correcting data-binding issues that led to state loss and runtime crashes.
  • Wrote unit and integration tests using Cypress to validate workflow execution and API behavior, increasing test coverage and preventing regression of previously fixed bugs.
  • Independently designed and implemented a stateless asset migration tool to replace manual IAP exports, building secure export/import pipelines with authentication and client-side caching to streamline repeated automation bundling.
  • Collaborated in an Agile team environment (standups, sprint planning, code reviews) to deliver incremental fixes aligned with sprint goals.

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (Computer Architecture)

Georgia Institute of Technology Atlanta, GA Jan 2025 – Dec 2025
  • Instructed 800+ students/semester in computer architecture, assembly, and C (office hours + labs).
  • Built autograders and test suites in Java/Python for 1000+ submissions/assignment, reducing manual review time by ~80%.
  • Debugged low-level code using GDB/Valgrind (segfaults, memory leaks, pointer errors).
  • Helping rebuild a legacy JavaFX circuit simulator into an Electron UI with a Rust engine for maintainability and cross-platform support.

Mobile Android Development Club Officer

Workshop Lead (GitMAD) Atlanta, GA Jan 2025 – May 2025
  • Designed and led 10+ weekly workshops on mobile development fundamentals, including Android Studio, Kotlin, React Native, and Firebase to 20+ students.
  • Hosted mobile development workshops at hackathons, guiding 50+ participants through building their first mobile app.

My Projects

PolicyPilot

Health insurance-appeal platform that creates/sends citation-heavy appeal drafts for coverage denials using a multimodal RAG system.

Movie Ranking Application

Full-stack MERN app with CRUD API, drag-and-drop rankings, TMDB integration, Docker + AWS deploy.

Computer Architecture & Logic Visualizer

Vue-based LC3/logic simulator used by 800+ students per semester, deployed via CI/CD pipeline.

StudySync

Full-stack study session platform (React + Supabase) with groups, real-time progress syncing, and messaging.

Super Tic Tac Toe

React.js game project: Ultimate Tic Tac Toe with game state management and win detection.

32-Bit CPU (Circuit Simulation)

Built a computer/CPU from scratch in a circuit simulation environment as part of CS 2200 (Systems & Networks).

xv6 Login System (Operating Systems)

Salted password hashing with privilege drop (setuid) into a user shell.

My Hobbies & Interests

Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing

Aside from getting a nice workout of it, I love the types of bouldering problems where it forces me to think of a clever solution.

Violin

Violin

I've played violin for around 8 years and have grown a love for orchestral music. My fun fact is that I've performed in Carnegie Hall before.
